This was the main reason why I started looking at the virtualbox solution - however the speed there was pretty sad. So, you could try to toy around with native android x86 and vesa or uvesa-mode or as said with virtualbox. The usb thing shouldn't be too hard - at least not in oracle's virtualbox version -not so sure, if it works or is supposed to work in virtualbox-ose. What did you try?
