pengarex
Pengarex was a client server technique. A powerful server
computer was prepared as an application server. The installed
applications could be run remotely, standalone or local but with remote
fileaccess on the client computers. The terminals could be diskless or
use installed disks for caching purposes (they were also called
pengaworkers). It is outdated by advanced installation mechanisms like
for example the debian installation system. Also virtual server farms
can be used to achieve the same.
